About this test

A 16-item quiz that estimates which of four work-value domains matters most to you: Achievement, Benevolence, Self-Direction, or Security. Items are authored by TEST-YO! around the higher-order value structure described by Schwartz (1992) and the work-values tradition of Super (1970). We do not reproduce the Schwartz SVS-57 or Super WVI items.

Methodology

Items authored by TEST-YO! around the four higher-order value dimensions described in Schwartz (1992) 'Universals in the content and structure of values' (Advances in Experimental Social Psychology 25). Informed by Super's Work Values Inventory (1970). Does NOT reproduce Schwartz SVS-57 items or Super WVI items.

FAQ + disclaimer
Is this the Schwartz Values Survey?

No. This 16-item quiz is inspired by the higher-order value structure Schwartz described in 1992, but the items are authored by TEST-YO! and do NOT reproduce the SVS-57 or PVQ items.

What theory is it based on?

The four domains map loosely to Schwartz (1992) higher-order values — Self-Enhancement (Achievement), Self-Transcendence (Benevolence), Openness to Change (Self-Direction), and Conservation (Security) — applied to work contexts, informed by Super (1970).

Is this a career recommendation?

No. It highlights what you say you value; it does not recommend specific jobs. Pair it with our Career and Career Interests tests for a richer picture.
