Big Five personality model

Extraversion

Extraversion is the Big Five trait measuring energy drawn from external stimulation — social interaction, novelty and action. Its low end is introversion.

Extraversion is not the same as social skill or friendliness. Introverts can be socially skilled and have many friends; they simply recharge alone. Extraversion correlates with leadership emergence, short-term happiness and positive affect.
