Self-Awareness

Self-Awareness is the first of Goleman's four Emotional Intelligence domains. It is the ability to recognise your own emotions as they arise and to understand how they influence your thoughts and behaviour.

It is the fastest-training EQ domain because it requires no sustained interaction with other people. Practices like emotion labelling ("I notice I'm feeling frustrated") and 2-minute daily check-ins show measurable improvement within 4–8 weeks.
